Photograph of a bouquet of roses converted to Black and White. Used Adobe Photoshop to paint one singular rose with this vibrant color.
Black and white photograph taken with my Samsung Galaxy S3 smartphone. I was standing at the South Capitol metro stop, Washington DC near the U.S. Capitol several hours before rush hour, when I saw the metro train approaching. Took several photographs and was fortunate to capture the train as it was just exiting the tunnel. Gorgeous light emanating from the train illuminated the ceiling, walls, and walkway.
Photograph of a stairway at National Harbor, Maryland. The photo gives one a sense of foreboding; what is lurking at the top of these stairs?
An abandoned train trellis near Georgetown, Washington DC. Although this structure is dilapidated, I was impressed with the open latticework, which helped to support vines and other types of plant life.
Newly constructed ferris wheel at National Harbor, Maryland; outside Washington DC.
A simple telephone pole with wires and lights affixed to this vertical structure.
A silhouetted photograph of the Needle Tower sculpture outside the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington DC. This aluminum and stainless steel sculpture was designed by Kenneth Nelson. Taking the photo from underneath the sculpture gave the image an almost infinite stairway into the sky.
Found this interesting barbed wire fence and noticed that over time some of the wiring became distorted and led to the word "ME" (in cursive) being spelled out.
Loved this pile of drift wood piled on top of each other.
A sculpture at the Hirshhorn Museum in Washington DC. Liked the lines and points that formed an array of triangles.
Silhouetted image of a tree in our community, taken in the fall time when all of the leaves had since fallen to the ground. I loved the latticework effect formed by the multitude of branches.
Black and white effect of tree roots and the first signs of spring; brought out the color of just these few small leaves, to denote the coming of Spring to Washington DC.
A lone military guard standing watch over the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, at Arlington National Cemetery outside Washington DC.
A singular footbridge cloaked in fog. Taken in the Outer Banks, North Carolina.
Metro station overhead lights, Washington DC
This memorial is dedicated to the women of the U.S. who served in the Vietnam War (most who did serve in country were nurses). This memorial is located fairly close to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and The Three Soldiers.
A close in shot of a rusting support structure to an abandoned train trellis outside Georgetown, Washington DC.
